Getting started

How do I use WhenFree in Messages?

Open the WhenFree app once and allow Calendar access. Then, in any conversation in Messages, tap the + button, choose WhenFree (scroll the list or tap "More" the first time; you can drag it to the top). Tap the times that work, read the reply line, tap Send.

How do I turn on the keyboard?
  1. Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > WhenFree.
  2. In any text field, hold the globe key and choose WhenFree.
  3. Tap the WhenFree row above the keys, choose times, tap Insert.

WhenFree does not ask for Full Access and does not need it.

The board is empty or everything looks busy.

Check Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars > WhenFree is set to Full Access. Then, in WhenFree, check Rules: working hours that are too narrow, a long buffer or a high minimum notice can hide all free time. "No free time this week" offers Widen and Next week.

Which calendars are used?

All calendar accounts already on your iPhone (iCloud, Google, Exchange, Outlook, subscribed calendars). The free version treats one calendar as busy; WhenFree Pro lets you choose any number. Pick them in Settings > Calendars.

My week shows all free, but I'm busy.

WhenFree reads the iPhone's Calendar. If your calendar lives in the Google Calendar app or the Outlook app, add the account to the iPhone once: Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Add Account, pick Google, Outlook.com or Microsoft Exchange, sign in, and turn on Calendars. Come back to WhenFree; it notices on its own. Nothing is uploaded: the events stay on your phone.

Some Google calendars are missing.

Shared and extra calendars can be off by default. On a computer, open calendar.google.com/calendar/syncselect, tick the calendars, save. Then check Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > your Google account > Calendars.

My work blocks adding the account.

Many workplaces allow only the Outlook app. Try publishing: in Outlook on the web, Settings > Calendar > Shared calendars > Publish a calendar, copy the ICS link, then on the iPhone Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts > Add Account > Other > Add Subscribed Calendar. It is read-only and refreshes on the iPhone's schedule. If publishing is blocked too, use Hours by hand in WhenFree.

Sending and booking

What does the other person see?

If they have WhenFree, a small bubble with your times; tapping one adds it to their calendar and marks it booked in your thread. If they do not have WhenFree, they see the same times as plain text and reply normally; when they do, WhenFree offers "Add to calendar" on your side. It works with anyone on any phone.

Can I edit the text before sending?

Yes. Tap the reply line to edit it. What you see is exactly what is sent.

A time I sent is now busy.

WhenFree re-checks your calendar before sending and offers Swap or Remove when a picked time has become busy. After sending, it cannot recall a message; send a follow-up.

Time zones while travelling?

Turn on the recipient time zone row (WhenFree Pro). Times are sent in their zone and shown in both.

Why does "Sent with WhenFree" not appear in my keyboard text?

By design. Text you insert with the keyboard is only your times. The attribution appears only on bubbles sent from the Messages app.

Purchases

What does WhenFree Pro include, and how do I pay?

WhenFree Pro unlocks all calendars as busy, buffers, minimum notice, max per day, unlimited meeting types, recipient time zones, and every future feature. It is sold three ways, all unlocking the same thing: Annual ($29.99/year), Monthly ($4.99/month), or Lifetime ($49.99 once, not a subscription). Choose in Settings > WhenFree Pro.

How do I cancel?

Annual and Monthly are auto-renewable subscriptions managed by Apple, not by us. On your device, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, choose WhenFree, and cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal charge. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with nothing to cancel.

I bought it on another iPhone. Restore / Family Sharing

Open WhenFree > Settings > Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account. Family Sharing is supported for all three plans if enabled in the App Store; a subscription shared this way stays tied to the purchaser's Apple Account for billing and cancellation.

Refunds

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

Does WhenFree see my messages or my event titles?

It cannot read the conversation you are in, and event titles never leave your phone. See the Privacy Policy for the full table of what the app can see. The App Store label is Data Not Collected.

Why does a keyboard need my calendar?

It does not read your calendar directly. The WhenFree app computes your free time ranges (no titles) and the keyboard reads only that list, from a container on your own phone.
