Rain Check: which of your calendar plans will the weather ruin?
Rain Check is an iPhone app that checks the forecast at each calendar event's own address and hour and gives each plan one answer: fine, iffy or move it. It is built for outdoor plans such as hikes, youth games, market booths and weddings. Forecasts come from Apple Weather, and there is no account.

Frequently asked questions
What is Rain Check?
Rain Check is an iPhone app that reads your calendar and checks the weather for each event, at that event's own address and hour. It tells you whether each plan is fine, iffy, or worth moving.
Where does the weather data come from?
Forecasts come from Apple Weather. Radar comes from NOAA through the developer's own server; a radar tile request identifies only the map area you are viewing.
Does it move my events automatically?
No. Tapping Move it makes Rain Check find the best open slot on your calendar and move the event, with 15 seconds to undo. Moving an event takes your tap; Rain Check does not move events on its own. You can also choose Keep and remind.
Is Rain Check free?
Today is free: every event on your calendar today, the radar, heads-ups, severe-weather alerts and your choice of how cautious to be. Rain Check Plus is an optional upgrade that adds fine, iffy or move it for tomorrow and the days after, up to 10 days ahead. Prices are shown in the app and vary by region.
Does the radar work outside the US?
Radar coverage is US only. Elsewhere you still get your plans and the hourly forecast.
Does it work for indoor events?
It checks every calendar event, but it is built for outdoor plans: it recognizes outdoor-shaped events and judges them for rain, storms, snow, wind, heat and cold.
Can I choose how cautious it is?
Yes. In Settings you can choose Relaxed, Standard or Cautious, and see how your own events would be affected. You can also choose °F or °C.
Does it send notifications?
It can send heads-ups when a plan turns iffy or worth moving, and severe-weather alerts when you turn them on.
Does it need an account or show ads?
No account, no sign-in and no ads.
