Is there an app that warns me if rain will ruin my outdoor plans?
Rain Check is an iPhone app that checks the forecast at each calendar event's own address and hour and gives every plan one answer: fine, iffy or move it. A general weather app is enough if you only care about the weather where you are standing; Rain Check helps when the plan is somewhere else, at a set time.

How the options compare
- Apple Weather: Built in, free, and the same data source Rain Check uses. It shows the forecast for places you add. It does not read your calendar and judge each plan for you, and you decide what hourly numbers mean.
- CARROT Weather and other full weather apps: Detailed, customizable, with alerts. Better if you like to read the forecast yourself or want deep detail.
- RadarScope: A serious radar tool favored by storm watchers. Much more radar depth than Rain Check, but it is a radar app, not a planner.
Where Rain Check fits
Rain Check reads your calendar on your iPhone and, for each event, asks Apple Weather about that event's location and hour, not where your phone is. It judges outdoor-shaped events (hikes, games, markets, weddings) for rain, storms, snow, wind, heat and cold. You can choose Relaxed, Standard or Cautious.
When a plan is worth moving, Move it finds the best open slot on your calendar and moves the event, with 15 seconds to undo. It never moves anything without your tap. Or choose Keep and remind.
Limits: the live radar and its 48-hour forecast radar cover the US only. Elsewhere you still get your plans and the hourly forecast. There is no account and no ads.
What it costs
Rain Check is free to download. Today, which covers every event on your calendar today, the radar and severe-weather alerts, is free. Rain Check Plus adds fine, iffy or move it for tomorrow and up to 10 days ahead: $2.99 a month, $19.99 a year or $59.99 once in the US. Prices from the US App Store, checked 2026-11-03; they vary by region.
